How To Make a Bottlecap Reindeer Magnet
Looking for a fun and simple holiday craft to do with the kids? This adorable bottlecap reindeer magnet is an easy project for older kids to create, share, or gift this festive season. You can make one or many to represent Santa’s entire reindeer team!
- 1 bottle cap for each magnet
- Black and white paint
- Paintbrush
- 2 brown pipe cleaners
- 2 strong magnets that fit inside a bottle cap
- Red pom-poms
- Hot glue gun
- Brown or gray paint
Start by painting the outside of your bottle caps brown or gray to create the reindeer bodies. Allow the paint to dry completely before moving on to the next steps!
Using white paint, create small circles on the bottle cap where the eyes will go. Once that dries, add a small black dot in the center of each white circle, then finish with a tiny touch of white paint inside the black dot to give your eyes some sparkle.
Next, cut one of the pipe cleaners in half, then bend each half to create antlers, twisting them together and setting aside.
Now, take your antlers and hot glue the longer part to the inside of the bottle cap on the opposite side from the face.
Grab your red pom-pom and apply a dab of hot glue where you want the nose to go. Press it down for a few seconds to secure it in place.
Finally, glue the magnet inside the bottle cap and press down firmly. Once dried, you’ll have your very own reindeer magnet, perfect for displaying or gifting!
