Peanut butter cookies are a beloved treat in our home, perfect any time of year.
This holiday season, we decided to give them a fun new twist.
They’re adorable enough to leave out for Santa—what do you think?
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Peanut Butter
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 Egg
- 1 1/3 cup Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 48 Red M&M’s
- 96 Mini Chocolate Chips
- Mini Twist Pretzels
Instructions
- Break pretzels into pieces for the antlers.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Cream together peanut butter, butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add egg and vanilla, then mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture until fully incorporated.
- Roll the dough into 1/2-3/4 inch balls and place them on a cookie sheet, leaving space between them.
- Sprinkle the cookies with sugar and gently create a small indentation slightly off-center in each cookie.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes.
- Place an M&M in the indentation of each cookie.
- Insert two mini chocolate chips (pointy end down) above the M&M to create eyes.
- Add two pretzel pieces for antlers.
- If the pretzels don’t stick, melt some chocolate chips in a bag for 30 seconds. Knead until soft, then pipe onto the cookie to act as glue.
