Hidden Kisses | Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
With Valentine’s Day approaching, I decided to look through my recipe box and came across a delightful recipe I had saved from a magazine over 20 years ago, but had never attempted.
I finally decided to give it a try—combining chocolate chip cookies with Hershey’s Kisses sounded like an unbeatable idea!

The ingredients are incredibly simple:
- 1 bag (9 oz) Hershey’s Kisses
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips (mini recommended, but regular works too!)

While the oven preheats to 375 degrees, have a helper unwrap the Kisses. My son Ethan loved this part, eating the unwrapped ones as he went along!
In a large bowl, beat together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until well mixed. Gradually add in the flour until smooth, then stir in the chocolate chips.

Scoop out a tablespoon of dough, place a Hershey’s Kiss in the center, and wrap the dough around the Kiss to form a ball.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until set. Ethan insisted that 10 minutes was too long!

Allow them to cool slightly before transferring them onto a wire rack. You can serve them as is, or enhance them with a chocolate drizzle as described below.
Chocolate Drizzle:
- Combine 1/4 cup of chocolate chips with 1 tsp of shortening in a bowl and microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir, and if needed, microwave for an additional 20 seconds or until the mixture is smooth.

These cookies were a hit with the family, and they immediately requested more. I can only imagine how delicious they would be with dark chocolate or almond Kisses as variations!
