Marina Fiesta los cabos

One of Los Cabos first big hotels built in the 1990s, Marina Fiesta Resort has an incredible spot right on the city’s marina. The hotel takes full advantage of this location offering private boat trips out to see the Los Cabos arch and was built so that most rooms have a view of the boat-filled marina that sparkles at sunset and in the moonlight once the lights go out.

Fiesta Marina is small for an all-inclusive resort, but they do the best with the space they have, offering both a front and back-of-the-house swimming pool and a string of restaurants along the marina that are just steps away from the hotel’s entrance — all a part of the hotel’s all-inclusive plan for guests.

Along the waterfront is Los Deseos, with traditional Mexican décor and classic Mexican dishes on the menu. Baja Lobster Co. is a seafood and oyster bar appropriate for its waterfront location. There is also Jack’s Steakhouse, Presto, an Italian spot, and Golden Legends, their sports bar where games from around the world are always playing onscreen. La Palapa is the poolside restaurant on-site where the morning’s breakfast buffet is served and where you can get cocktails and light snacks like ceviche or tacos until early evening. The back pool also has a swim-up bar with snacks and drinks during the day. The Cielo bar is on the hotel’s top-floor terrace and serves cocktails from 5 pm to 10 pm with a view of the coastline below.

The hotel’s rooms are divided into five categories There are two types of Junior Suites – the Nautica and Gran Luxe. The Nautica is slightly smaller at 505 square feet, can include one queen with a sofa bed, two queen beds or a King Size, and has an outdoor balcony and a sitting area. The Gran Luxe has either a King or two Queens and is 693 square feet, but doesn’t have a balcony or sitting area.

There are also 1- or 2-bedroom Nautica suites that are good for groups or families. The presidential suite is over 2,000 square feet and can fit 5 people comfortably (three adults, two kids). It has a sweeping view of the marina with two bedrooms, a private jacuzzi, and three bathrooms, plus a kitchen and dining room.

The rooms have a somewhat dated Nautical-themed décor but beds are extremely comfortable, balconies despite most facing the central patio give you a surprising sense of privacy due to how they are designed, and all categories include lockboxes, robes, slippers, an ironing board and iron, and good-smelling bath products. All these are nice amenities, but if I have said it once I have said it a million times, it pains me to see anyone in the hotel industry not transitioning into more sustainable hospitality mode and doing away with single-use plastics, which are abundant at Fiesta Marina.

They have a great spa, I might even like it more than the spa in their sister property, the all-inclusive Vista Encantada, with a hydro-therapy circuit that includes a cold plunge, hot tub, sauna, and steam room that is truly invigorating if you follow the prescribed steps. I got an after-sun sea salt wrap while I was there and loved it. There’s also a fishbowl-style gym on the 6th floor, well-equipped (although the treadmill was ridiculously complicated to set and use) and with great views of the city.

One of the resort’s biggest benefits, of course, is its incredibly central location in Los Cabos. From the marina, you can book everything from an excursion in a glass-bottom boat out in the bay to an hours-long private yacht cruise. There are a couple of small swimming beaches, each off to one side of the marina that are about a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Along the marina wharf there is luxury shopping, nightlife, and restaurants and if you want more of a local experience you can walk into Los Cabos downtown – this city is consistently rated as one of the safest in Mexico.

For the convenience of an all-inclusive resort, while still being close enough to explore your surroundings and see the sights on your own, Fiesta Marina is a great choice.

Rates at the Fiesta Marina are $110 to $563 in the low season and $178 to $822 in the high season, depending on whether you choose the all-inclusive or European plan.  You can book your stay directly at the hotel website or check Booking.com or Expedia to see if you can get a better rate and make your reservations there.
