Bend, in Central Oregon, is a hot bed of outdoor recreational activities. Our family has been coming to Bend since our children were toddlers. In fact, my husband and I bonded in college while skiing at Mount Bachelor. Bend offers something for couples, multi-generational travelers and the solo wanderer. We were pleased to learn of this new Bend hotel opening as we are Best Western Rewards members. The Best Western Premier Peppertree Inn at Bend is not only affordable, it’s in a great location.
Whether you plan to visit the Cascade Lakes, ski or snowboard Mt. Bachelor, or take in a concert, this Best Western fits the bill.
We’ve stayed at plenty of Best Western hotels, from premier properties to standard and know to expect a clean comfortable experience. We liked BW Premier Peppertree Inn because it’s privately owned, fairly new, opened in 2018, and cost effective. I confess that it did make me feel like a VIP to see my name on the welcome board, along with other BW Premier guests. We also received two bottled waters for our BW Rewards level.
The hotel lobby featured a nice selection of tea, coffee and filtered water in a glass container. I felt rather sheepish taking plastic water bottles to my car when Bend is home to HydroFlask reusables containers and is very eco-friendly.
The lobby décor was a blend of modern furniture with a touch of forestland. We loved the wall of glass that filled the room with natural light and the use of rustic wood furniture.
Family-friendly hotel rooms
The 4-story, 3-star inn, featured 119 rooms, with queen beds, king bed and family-friendly rooms with a queen bed, sofa bed and twin bed. We had reserved a queen room, as we were traveling without our dog and we are now empty nest parents. We were upgraded to a queen twin room with a quaint little balcony and spacious living area. Ours was a quick overnight stay, but I’d return to this Best Western for its convenient location.
Our room included the standard mini fridge, a coffee maker and desk area. The bathroom offered a large walk-in shower and eco-friendly shampoo and conditioner products that were mounted inside the shower stall. Nice job, Peppertree Inn. Lets get all hotels to phase out small, plastic, single use bottles.
Unlike some other Best Western hotels, BW Peppertree Inn at Bend was pet-friendly. I can’t imagine a Bend hotel not being dog-friendly, as this Central Oregon town is very popular with dog owners. There was a limit of 2 dogs allowed, with an additional fee charged nightly.
Drinking and Dining at Premier Peppertree Inn
There are so many places to consume beer and wine in Bend. In fact, Peppertree Inn has a relationship with next door neighbor, Cascade Brewing. That said, Peppertree Pub & Eatery is on the ground floor of the Bend hotel. We did not opt to dine at Peppertree Pub. We did receive a text message, notifying us of a guest discount on the first drink in the bar.
Next to the lobby reception desk is the Go Marketplace. I imagine this mini market is handy for picking up wine, beer, bottled water and snack foods.
We did partake in the complimentary breakfast, included in the price of your hotel room. The buffet breakfast offered several hot items, including bacon! I tried the pancake maker and was pleased with the results. Faster than the make your own waffles, the touchless pancake maker pumped out two petite-sized pancakes. In addition to pastries, yogurt and a selection of fruit, there was also juice and coffee available.
After a day on the slopes or active adventure in Central Oregon, you might want to take advantage of the indoor swimming pool. There is also a whirlpool spa attached to the pool.
Room rates range from $155 – $450 depending on time of year and room type. The hotel offers AAA discounts and special pricing for Best Western Reward members. Book your stay directly online at the hotel website, or through a booking site like Hotels.com.
