Patriotic Rice Krispies Treat Pops

Patriotic Rice Krispies Treat Pops

As a child, Rice Krispie Treats were among my favorite snacks. They were simple to prepare and delightful to eat.

With Independence Day approaching, we decided to elevate these treats by transforming them into a vibrant tri-colored POP!

While they’re not the healthiest option, I believe it’s okay for my kids to enjoy a sweet treat occasionally.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 10.5 oz Marshmallows
  • Red Food Coloring
  • Blue Food Coloring
  • 8-12 Popsicle Sticks

Preparation Steps

In a medium saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over low heat.

Add one-third of the marshmallows and stir until they are completely melted.

Mix in enough red food coloring to achieve a vibrant red hue.

Remove the saucepan from heat.

Line a loaf pan with parchment paper and lightly spray it with non-stick spray.

Incorporate one-third of the Rice Krispies cereal, mixing until it is thoroughly coated.

Rice Krispies Mixture

Butter your hands or use wax paper to press the mixture firmly into the pan.

In another medium saucepan, melt another tablespoon of butter over low heat.

Add another third of the marshmallows, stirring until completely melted.

Remove from heat.

Incorporate another third of the Rice Krispies cereal, mixing until well coated.

Once again, butter your hands or use wax paper to press the mixture firmly into the pan.

In a final saucepan, melt the last tablespoon of butter over low heat.

Add the remaining one-third of marshmallows and stir until melted.

Add blue food coloring to create a bright blue color.

Remove from heat, add the last third of Rice Krispies cereal, and stir until coated.

Press this mixture into the pan as well.

Final Mixture

Insert popsicle sticks evenly into the crispy mixture.

Allow everything to cool completely.

Once cooled, lift the uncut block from the pan and cut it into individual pops.

Enjoy!
